I’ve inherited a love for art from my family and spent many hours of my younger years being creative and attending art galleries/markets/shows/museums.
It’s no surprise then really that I continued drawing throughout my school years. I did try art GCSE but found it stifling so from there I kept drawing a personal hobby.
It was around 2017 that I felt I had started to develop a style of my own (please don’t ask me how – it just happened!) and I decided to enter my work into it’s first exhibition open call in Sheffield – and it was accepted! From there I just kept going submitting my work to open calls and getting the occasional sale. Honestly I was shocked – and still am at every sale haha!
I became a member of LSA (Leamington Studio Artists) and joined WOS (Warwickshire Open Studios) for a number of years, as well as a bunch of other markets, some of which were a success- and some weren’t! It’s taken me time of attending markets to get an idea of who my audience is and what kind of niche I want to fulfil. It’s tricky getting the balance between drawing for me and my quirky tastes, and what I think others would enjoy/want on their wall.
I now attend a variety of art shows and markets around the Leamington/Warwickshire area, I hope to see you around!
